Pooja Hegde – Awards and nominations
Pooja, a former beauty contestant, was the second runner-up in the Miss Universe India 2010 before making her acting debut in Mysskin’s Tamil superhero film Mugamoodi (2012). She starred in the Telugu films Oka Laila Kosam and Mukunda (2014).
Hegde competed in the Miss India 2009 pageant, but was dropped early despite winning the Miss India Talented 2009 title. She re-applied the following year and became the second runner-up in the Miss Universe India 2010 pageant, as well as winning the Miss India South Glamorous Hair 2010 crown.
She was nominated for Best Tamil Newcomer at the 2nd South Indian International Film Awards, but lost to Lakshmi Menon.
The second film starring Pooja was Oka Laila Kosam (2014) in Telugu, where she starred opposite Naga Chaitanya. She was acclaimed for her performance in the film. At the same time, she was nominated for Best Actress at the 62nd Filmfare Awards (South).
