YouTube is an online video-sharing platform. This platform headquarter is in San Bruno, California. Three former PayPal employees—Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim—created the service in February 2005. Google bought this platform in November 2006 for US$1.65 billion; YouTube now operates as one of Google’s subsidiaries.
YouTube has an average 2 billion users worldwide. Of these, 180 million subscribers watch YouTube videos every day on the TV screen. That’s what YouTube CEO Susan Diane Wojcicki said.
“Like, comment, chat, etc. on YouTube has increased by 60 percent from before. More and more creators are starting YouTube business with their phone and internet connection. ” Said Susan.
“We’ve already asked a lot of questions from the company’s social media platform. About 600 percent more questions have been answered on Twitter than ever before. ” Wojcicki said.
More information than ever before is available through YouTube Studio for content creators.
“I started testing this new dashboard in February with a few creators. This new dashboard has already been created on all English channels. The dashboard will be available on the remaining 76 language channels in the next two weeks. ”
Susan reports that 60 million subscribers participate in the YouTube community post every day.
With this, the popularity of live stream is increasing, he said. “The number of live streams has increased almost 10 times in the last three years,” said Susan.
YouTube has reportedly surpassed 22.5 crore subscribers in India. About 80 percent of all Internet users in this country use YouTube.
YouTube will show ads for non-monetized channels
YouTube Monetization big changes- In recent times, many users have made good money from Google’s video sharing platform YouTube. These earnings come mainly through advertising. When a channel receives a certain number of views and subscribers, that channel can be monetized. Once the channel is monetized, YouTube starts showing ads on the channel’s videos. 54% of the revenue from advertisements is given to YouTubers. But this time YouTube is going to make a big change in their advertising policy. This time they will also show advertisements on non-monetized channels. But the revenue of this advertisement will not be given to the concerned channel. This will affect all YouTubers whose channels have not yet been monetized.
YouTube Monetization policy big changes
YouTube announced the change in their updated Terms and Conditions. For now, they will start showing ads on a limited number of videos. They said that all YouTube channels that are not part of the YouTube Partner Program will not receive any revenue from this ad. Note that in order to monetize YouTube channels, you have to be part of the YouTube Partner Program. It takes at least 4,000 hours of watch time and 1,000 subscribers in the last 12 months. Only if these conditions are met can you apply for a partner program.
YouTubers who already have a partner program will not be affected in any way by this change. But all the new YouTubers who are working day and night to establish their channel will reap the rewards of their hard work.
YouTube has not yet commented on how many videos will feature ads. However, they said no ads would be shown on videos related to politics, alcohol, and religion or gambling. Excluding these topics, there are many more videos available on YouTube in which the YouTube authorities can count the profits by showing ads.
