Halitosis disease Common Bad breath causes, prevention

Presumably, one in four people in the general population suffers from Halitosis disease (common bad breath) complications. This embarrassing and socially uncomfortable condition can degrade one’s personality as well as create various problems. Complications in the oral cavity include dental caries and gum disease followed by bad breath. Today’s bog I’ve discussed Halitosis disease (Common bad breath causes and prevention).

Common causes of bad breath and halitosis

Indifference in cleaning the mouth: Many of us do not clean the mouth after eating at night, do not follow the proper rules of teeth and mouth cleaning, and cannot use dental floss. This is the main cause of bad breath.

If the food particles are stuck somewhere between the teeth, the germs break them down and produce a foul-smelling substance called sulfur. Unclean mouth can cause various diseases and can also cause bad breath.

Bad breath by Smoking and drinking:

Bad breath (Halitosis disease) is very common in smokers. Any type of tobacco or alcohol, including smoking, is not good for our body; they are identified as one of the causes of cancer.

Variety of food:

Eating certain foods can cause bad breath. For example, after digestion, onion or garlic enters the bloodstream and goes to the lungs and from there the smell comes to the breath.

Dry mouth:

Whatever the reason, if the flow of saliva in the mouth is not normal, there will be bad breath. Saliva keeps the mouth clean as well as resists germs. This reduces the risk of gingivitis and dental caries, which can lead to bad breath.

Eat less sugar:

If you are fasting or on a diet, eating less carbohydrates or rice can break down fats to meet the body’s needs and produce a chemical called ketone, which can also cause bad breath. Even if the mouth is dry to drink less, it may smell.

Drug side effects:

For example angina, some chemotherapy, some tranquilizers such as-

Phenothiazines as well as drugs that reduce saliva secretion in the mouth can cause bad breath.

People who take large amounts of vitamin supplements may also be at risk for bad breath.

From other diseases:

Nose-ear-throat diseases such as inflammation of the tonsils, sinus infections, liver disease, digestive problems, including regular reflux of stomach acids can cause bad breath. Bad breath can also be caused by a respiratory or lung infection. Uncontrolled diabetes can also lead to ketoacidosis and bad breath.

The specific odor of the breath may vary depending on the cause of the problem. Close friends or relatives may be the first to understand the smell of the mouth, because it is difficult to evaluate on their own.

Some people are concerned about their breathing, even if they have very little or no bad breath. This condition is called halitophobia.

Halitosis disease prevention and treatment

The most important thing to avoid bad breath is to know the correct rules for keeping the mouth clean and to practice it regularly. Among these, proper use of toothbrush, floss and mouthwash are notable.

Drinking plenty of fluids and chewing sugar-free chewing gum keeps the saliva secretion in the mouth. If there are other physical problems, it is more important to consult the concerned doctor and above all to consult an approved dental doctor every six months.
